Meet Guitar Legend Michael Angelo Batio
“No. 1 Shredder of All Time” by Guitar One Magazine
If you are a guitar enthusiast, Michael Angelo Batio, known to his loyal fans as simply MAB, certainly needs no introduction. However, if you happen to have been playing your guitar under a rock for the past 20 years, allow us to introduce you. Mike Batio is heavy metal guitarist from Chicago and is world-renowned uncanny ability to play guitar in a style unlike anyone else. His lightning fast shredding and work with heavy metal bands such as Nitro have earned Michael more than a cult following with editorial heavyweights such as Guitar World Magazine naming him one of their “Top 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time”. However, it’s important to note that this definitely isn’t the only reason he is so qualified to be teaching lessons.
“Top 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time” by Guitar World Magazine
Michael is much more than simply a popular heavy metal shredder, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition from Northeastern Illinois University, its quite easy to see how much more experienced Batio is outside of simply heavy metal. In fact, Michael has always been a guitar virtuoso having won the “All-State Jazz Solo Award” at the age of 16.
Perhaps the main reason that Michael’s instructional guitar lesson DVDs such as the Speed Kills and Speed Lives series have become so popular is the fact so many people are blown away by his ability to shred and want to learn from the best. However, with his in-depth knowledge of music theory and composition as well as distinct mastery of many genres and techniques from jazz to neoclassical shredding and advanced arpeggios, he is, by far, the best man for the job. This type of opportunity doesn’t come along quite often, and we are all thankful for Michael’s contribution to the guitar community around the globe. Don’t wait to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity!
